The Graduate

Jordan officially graduated from Kindergarten.  She had a great year. Her teacher was so sweet.  And she really learned a lot!  We now have a reader thanks to Mrs. McQuinn.

 After graduation we voted in our local Democratic primary and got adorable peach I voted stickers.

Baptism Sunday

Better late than never....the girls were baptized on Mother's Day.  Jordan loved the experience, and was very poised and sweet.  Dylan earned herself and extra dose of water because she was quite the opposite.  She did not want to be we that's for sure!

 I think she rocks the dress from 1982 quite nicely.  It was sewn by my Grandmommy special for me.

 Dylan's favorite part was the cake.

It was a great day, only a few more years until confirmation!

Winding down the school year

The past few weeks have been full of end of the year fun.

She also began playing tennis

 And had a super fun field day

Only 6 days of school left!

Easter Sunday

The girls woke up to find their Easter baskets bright and early. They enjoyed all the yummy candy.  And really didn't have much room for the French toast casserole I made.

 These soy free bunnies are made with Enjoy Life chocolate chips melted down and poured into a mold.

 This was the only soy in the lot, Jordan's Cadbury eggs.

 I am over my hatred of Peeps.  Dylan was so in love them that I have to be too.

After breakfast we were off to church.  Jordan got to sit with us during the service.  It was a little more exciting that usual I think that was for the kids.

A room for a big girl

Jordan now has the only decorated room in the house.  I had promised her that we would redo her room when she turned 6.  So it was time for some updates.  She got new bedding, a rug, lamp, and window topper, and a coat of paint.  It is so cute, and now it is everyone's favorite room.  Dylan can not wait until it is her turn.  But I told her she has to wait until she is 3. 

 

While the painting was happening the girls slept on Jordan's mattress on Dylan's floor.  It's a good thing it was spring break because they kept each other up talking until at least 9:30 p.m.  Those girls loved their slumber party.

 I also got this growth chart of etsy.  Only $25, compared to Pottery Barn's $100.  I thought that was an awesome deal!  We copied the girls heights off the door frame before we moved and transposed them on to this.  Now I know Dylan is the exact height Jordan was at 3.  And she still has 3 month until her birthday.  Someone tell Dr. Antone he has no clue what he is talking about this girl can grow.  It is a good thing too, because she has a love of basketball :)

Go Tigers

Last week we celebrated opening day.  The girls wore there Tigers gear and we even had hot dogs and cracker jacks for dinner.  

By the way the "cracker jacks" were delicious.  Yay for soy free treats that are simple and tasty.

Feb-March Catch Up

So I haven't posted since the beginning a February... Here is a catch up on what has been going on.

 

It snowed a second time.  I really don't like that.  Here is a picture of some kind of military vehicle clearing our snow.

Because of the snow the girls had a week off of school.  Then the following week was winter break so that was 2 weeks in a row.

 Dylan got a book shelf.  She was so excited.  She picked out the cute heart box to go on it too. 

My parents came in to town for winter break.  Lucky for them it was in the 70s.  We wore them out with a trip to the aquarium and zoo.  My dad forgot and thought it was summer for a moment.  Too bad he went back to MN and found winter again.
Mark and the girls went to a daddy daughter dance at the gym, and they brought Jeep along for the fun.

 At the end of Feb. we participated in the gym's family yoga night.  Jordan loves yoga, and Dylan loves to climb on people doing yoga to see if she can get them to fall.

 Jordan is being tested for the accelerated program at school.  Basically because she can do work like this.....

 

And then we celebrated Jordan's birthday.

 These are the cupcakes I made for Jordan's class.  She as 26 kids in her class.  That's more than my cupcake holder can carry.  Did you know you can buy cupcake holders at the bakery counter at the grocery?  I needed to buy 2 in order go get all those cupcakes to school

 For Jordan's big day we went roller skating.  Jordan apparently invited her best friend Nora Jane.  It was a fun surprise to find her and her family at the rink.

 Then we came home and had lunch and opened gifts

 As you can tell she is a very lucky girl.  Thank you everyone for the presents.  She loves them.

 While Dylan was napping she and Mark headed outside to do some science experiments.

 And of course there was cake.  Hopefully I will get better at cake decorating.  Obviously my cupcake skills do not translate to actual cake.

It was a great day and now we are looking forward to spring.  I have even seen them getting the outdoor pool at the gym ready!
